Considering we're actually in a nice place we should make the most of it. I'm shopping. Since I don't have my best friend it'd be nice to have someone else to shop with.

[ She means it nicer than it sounds, it's just a Lydia thing. Shopping is definitely more fun with others ]

[ And she actually means anyone. She won't deprive someone of shopping, she'll just deal with the 'no killing' if she has to ]

She'd been looking at the clothes a few moments before, and judging by the handful of coat hangers she's carrying it has been going well. Obviously. But now she just needs shoes to go with it ]

Obviously not. [ Okay, she also could have done and just loves shopping, but she actually didn't. But she's also not wasting shopping ] And with floods and ports I might need something different.

Nothing specific, no. A good pair of trousers is handy for more situations than you'd possibly imagine.

I don't usually get into those situations. [ She wears very short dresses and skirts, okay? ]

I didn't say certain, I said that it doesn't mean it will. It's a possibility.

Then shouldn't you be prepared for all possibilities?

They're not much use if you're not wearing them.

[Not much rather than absolutely no use. You could feasibly use them as a weapon or rope, after all.]
